Lukashenko amends decree on subsidized housing construction

22/12/2022 14:12
MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 433 to amend Decree No. 13 of 6 January 2012 “On certain issues of subsidized construction (reconstruction) or acquisition of residential premises”, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The changes apply to people on the waiting list for better housing who, by 15 January 2022, received land plots for building homes in small towns, urban-type settlements and rural settlements that are outside the areas where they were put on the waiting list. They will be able to apply for subsidies for the construction of these houses.

The decree also establishes that in exceptional cases, with the permission of local executive committees, it will be possible to alienate land plots provided to people on the waiting list for better housing, and (or) residential buildings constructed on them earlier than five years from the date of state registration of such houses. Previously, this period was eight years.

The decree comes into force on 1 January 2023.
